when did you last make yourself feel uncomfortable?

I've got to do it soon, what with moving to a new country, I need to make some new friends... urgh, I thought I was good at it but I'm dreading the prospect. Unfortunately Mr SCL is away all weekend, and unless I want to rot into boredom and loneliness hell I need to go and meet some people. So tomorrow, I'm going to two artshows, one on my own, and a later one where I vaguely know the DJ and he's promised to get drunk with me and introduce me to some people. The optimistic part of me says this is a promising start, the negative part says 'stay inside and watch some more Danish TV' I hate those start up conversations when you don't know someone very well...
