i was looking at a picture of norman mailer (RIP) earlier and thought, 'that's what an old man should look like' and then got to thinking how i cannot wait to be an old man.
i could be totally wrong and end up hating it but it must be nice to know that your life has been lived, you've accomplished some things, failed at others, maybe had a family and left some sort of legacy. you get to wear comfortable clothes like cardigans, not have to worry about going out and how you're gonna get home and you're really wise about life in general and generally feel quite content about things.
