generic DiS board thread #485896 returns again!

i need to sort out a broadband connection at home. i've never done this before - i've either stolen wireless or a housemate has set it up. so i'm a bit lost.

here's how it goes: i live on my own, so i don't need a high connection speed. i would, however, like one without download limits. i don't need wireless.

i know most need a BT phoneline, but looking at the BT site they only seem to offer 8mb packages, and the cheapest is £15/month with a 5gb download limit, which doesn't seem like a huge amount. their unlimited package is a lot more than this, more than i'm willing to pay considering.

any recommendations as to where I should be looking?
