Ripping CD's you paid for- Illegal?

The RIAA must realise that this is really, really taking the piss now, right? I'm not too sure about the specific case mentioned (why else would you have Kaza or however it is spelt than to illegally download stuff?) but the very idea you cannot create mp3's from CD's you have legally purchased for your own personal use is absurd.

And yes, this should probably be on the Music board but there is a slightly smaller chance it will get a reply here...
