The headline reference in his obits will be his unsuccessful spell with Zoe Ball on Radio 1 breakfast, but when his weekend breakfast show from 1994-95 was one of the best things Radio 1 did all decade, hugely inventive and funny. Shame they never worked out what to do with him afterwards.
