Hello. I have a really lovely classical guitar which i play and use for gigs etc. It's totally acoustic and we always have to put a mic near it which is pretty much a pain in the arse for shows and stuff.

I'm just wondering what kind of pickup I could get fitted. What would it require? I know absolutely nothing about any of this stuff so some help would be muchly appreciated.
Would it ruin the sound of the guitar if I got a pickup fitted?
