Egypt vs Cameroon

Reckoning [Edit] [Delete] 15:15, 22 January '08

The Pharoahs vs The Indomitable Lions

On paper, this is a top-drawer clash, between the holders and record 5-times winners Egypt, and last times semi-finalists and 4-time winners Cameroon. On grass however, it looks like a Cameroon stroll. Egypt are without arguably their best players down to suspension, injury and choice (Ghaly choosing Derby County over the ACN...), whereas Cameroon are pretty much full strength and in Samuel Eto'o, have one of the most lethal strikers on the planet. Like Nigeria, they've also managed to find a decent goalie and so are my tip for the tournament.

Egypt's star player is goalie Al Hadary, imaginatively nicknamed 'The Wall'.

0-2.
