Guilty thoughts

alcofrolic [Edit] [Delete] 00:12, 11 February '08

Not so long ago, I posted a thread looking for things to cheer my best friend up because she's on her year abroad and things aren't going so well for her at the moment.

Things haven't really improved - she's still pretty fed up and wants to come home...

Problem is, I'm starting to run out of patience and find myself feeling irritated when she goes on another tirade [possibly not the right word] about it because she's not actually DOING anything to try and make things better.

And then I feel bad for being annoyed. She's my best friend and she's not happy, and I guess I'm feeling a little frustrated that there's very little I can do to help. I'm starting to feel like I'm on call 24/7 and I really really shouldn't. I know she'd do the same for me... At least, I'm fairly sure she would.

So, comfort and humour me. I can't be the only one to be irrational about things like this, even if the circumstances aren't the same. What thoughts do you have that you KNOW you shouldn't and feel slightly abashed or embarrassed of? 'fess up...
