A position has arisen in my current job to move sideways into the merchandising department, is an area which interests me quite a lot.

HOWEVER, I am also currently looking at moving cities to be closer to my girlfriend (by about 200 miles), but this requires me getting a job up in Edinburgh.

I feel bad about taking a new position at my current work if I'm already thinking about moving on, but it may be a step into a new field for me which would help me get better jobs in future.

If you've managed to make it this far, what would you do in my situation? Has anyone had to make a similar choice in the past.
