Anyone see the antics of Bear Gryls and 'Gilesy' last night?

They were the first people to parachute upwards higher than everest (unconfirmed) with a huge motor strapped to their backs. FINALLY! Someone has paramotored higher than Everest! I was wondering when that would happen!

Why do people still try to be the 'first' to achive utterly meaningless feats? I mean, I can see the point of being the first to CLIMB everest, or the first to reach the South Pole, but the first to fly in a hotair balloon between two countries? The first person to reach the south pole WHILST BEING RIPPED APART BY HUSKIES?
