I'm gonna buy a url and need to know if there is any kind of extras or packages I should be looking out for, because it's a website that might end up being a ~serious~ thing, ie something that might become my source of employment (if all goes well).

Years ago I did a basic startup thing with www.musicismyradar.co.uk (hosted on Linux, should I be hosting on Windows?) but I don't know if there's other stuff I need to do.

Any advice?
