Peter Kay

jmags [Edit] [Delete] 14:56, 8 April '08

This morning I had to phone a person in London. They began chuckling some two minutes into the conversation before bursting out with 'Hehe, its like I'm talking to Peter Kay this.' I add immediately that I am neither from Lancashire nor particularly jolly in either the literal nor metaphorical sense of the word (ie fat), thus this episode disturbed me.

I'm wondering if any other Northerners have suffered similar disturbing experiences or if the Southern contingent are prone to tar all with the Kay induced stereotypical 'two up two down' existence that the aforemnetioned fat lad peddles by way of funnyisms?

By way of background info I've actually found him funny in the past but I recently went on a date with a girl who stated that 'Peter Kay would only need to say hello to make me laugh' and almost stood up and left immediately. Her later admission that she'd never heard of Peter Cook was a straw too far.
