English seaside resorts that are just behind the times fascinate me. It's ever since Blackpool rebranded itself as a world of family entertainment, I think - some of the popular ones get it about right, but especially down that east coast there's a lot of towns that have installed a ferris wheel, some signage and a coastal one way system and presented it as fun for all the family, hoping the family will spot the lack of direct delapidation but won't notice that the sea is so far back the Channel Tunnel's sea crossing capabilities look like a lot of fuss about nothing.
