A gay predicament?

dove_from_above [Edit] [Delete] 14:32, 8 May '08

A couple of years back, I was introduced to a friend of a friend. Nice lass, we got on well and still do. But I'm a judgemental beast, and more often than that jump to assumptions that tend to stand the test of time

My first thought when I met her was 'lesbian'. Not in a derogatory way, I just got the impression that she was a homosexual. She's undoubtedly a tom boy, but it went a little further than that

I met her as she lives with a girl I'm good friends with, and they both went to uni together. So they've been mates for... five years or so? I've since introduced my friend to another (male)friend, and it looks like they might be bumping uglies before long. It's a beautiful thing when two friends are introduced and reach the stage where they'd like to see each other naked

But this other girl right, the 'gay' one, has started to act strange. She takes every opportunity to put my mate down, and manages to cause tension/an argument whenever we're all together. Just the other night she stormed off because my two friends were flirting, and 'ignoring her'

The plot got quite juicy recently with an alleged 'incident' when these two girls were alone together (in their front room) watching tele. Apparently a hand wandered, was promptly brushed aside, and ever since the awkwardness levels have risen a thousand fold

Basically, should my male friend kick on and get further into this bizarre love triangle? They both seem to genuinely like each other, after all. Or should he do the manly thing, back off and let this weird jealous lesbian/concerned friend thing play out by itself?

And no, the 'male friend' isn't me. If it was, I'd clearly be pushing the threesome angle
