HERE'S A QUESTION

isibuko [Edit] [Delete] 12:29, 22 May '08

here's a scenario:

if someone you know is simply refusing to eat (the reason doesn't really matter, but let's say that they have an eating disorder), do you

a) override their desire not to eat and MAKE them eat, because you know what's best for them?

b) let them do what they want, even though you know that they need to eat and will be gravely ill if they don't.

in other words, do you think people's basic needs override whatever conflicting desires they might have?

i'm interested in gauging opinion.

supplementary question:
isn't gauging a funny word to look at
