Reggae Like It Used To Be (someone-thought-this-was-a-good-ideacentric)
It is 1976. Peel is playing roots reggae to death. Bob Marley has just made his international breakthrough. Don Letts is introducing dub to the punk club kids. It's the year of King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown, of Super Ape and the coming of age of Black Ark studios, of critical success for Burning Spear, U-Roy, Peter Tosh, Dillinger and Big Youth. This whole period will become known as the first Golden Age of reggae.
And in the middle of it all, musical and sitcom actor Paul Nicholas can't help feeling something's not quite there.
