paris (drunken self pity centric)

jesus_son [Edit] [Delete] 01:15, 7 June '08

so, my birthday present from my grandparents is amazing. they're paying for me to go to paris, and stay there in a hotel for four days. it's going to be amazing (especially since i haven't been abroad that often) and i'm extremely tempted to spend the entire weekend 1.doing a cinephile's tour of paris, complete with lumiere brothers cafe, cinematheque francais etc., and have a brilliant, geeky, godard fan four day weekend.

however

it also seems like some sort of massive waste, because, for some time (about 8 months), i've been a little bit single, and i kind of think that a free trip to paris any time i want is something i should really keep in reserve to one day stun someone with, and basically, i don't want to go on my own really.

so my question is this - given that this is on offer (and hotel and transport paid for when i call it) to any potential person i meet in the near future, how do i go about finding someone random that i'd have a genuinely great extended weekend with, and not just someone who'd be along for the free trip? basically, how do i turn my life into an idealistic indie movie?
