how do you read a book?

sarkyfox [Edit] [Delete] 14:47, 11 June '08

i've been deemed as a bit of a 'rogue' and 'a liability' when reading books by some friends.

when i read a book, i read it properly, bending the pages back enough so i can see everything clearly.

when i take a break, i either put it facedown, splayed outwards, or i bend the corner back on the page that i was on. most of my books, while nowhere near being ruined, are a little dogeared, and therefore in my opinion, loved.

these actions have been deemed as near HERESY by some of those i know.

they read books as if they're porcelain dolls, trying not to bend the spine at ALL, so they can barely see the words on the page, and taking delight in the fact that the books they have read still look brand new and unread.

i find this weird.

thoughts?
