so today I've had to send a few letters out to people, a rather archaic practice I know, and to add to the curiosity I've had to write out the addresses by hand, with a pen and everything. Which I no longer seem to be able to do - not in the 'back from school holidays' sense, but more in the 'oh god I've actually forgotten how to write a "9"' sense (does it have to curl round at the bottom? or can it just go straight down?).

Then of course it struck me that I literally never ever write anything down. Reminders are saved in my phone, my work to do list is a notepad doc, all other correspondence is via email or social networking. Does anyone else think handwriting will be obselete in about 50 years' time?
