or possibly the ability of people in my halls to distribute letters to people well

i went down to check my mail today, see if i'd heard back from any jobs i'd applied for, offering me interviews or otherwise. lo and behold, there was one there.

strange, i thought. the postmark on this says 10.06.08, yet it wasn't there on saturday when i checked. and strange, someone has written the wrong flat number on this originally, then it has been crossed out in a different colour pen and the right one written on.

so i open the envelope to find an offer of an interview! but the interview was last tuesday

fucking great. as if it isn't hard enough to get an interview without having to deal with a possibly inept postal service and a quite definitely inept staffer in my halls, who can't apparently read the file on his computer which says what flat everyone is in. it's not even like this was one digit off, it was the wrong fucking BLOCK, and the wrong number massively

i'm going to ring up offering a grovelling apology to my now-won't-be employer, stating why i didn't attend or ring ahead to cancel, but there doesn't seem to be a lot else I can do.
