Where I grew up there was a local "eccentric" called Lloydy. Amongst the legendary things he did were:

Filled his land rover with concrete to stop the IRA from blowing it up.

Dressed as Father Christmas to try to go down his own chimney but scared on the roof and the fire brigade had to come and get him down.

Regularly going into the supermarket, getting a massive shop put through the till and then saying "I don't have any money" and running off.
I really want to do this.
