I was happily skipping around the jewellers I work in, doing the odd chore here and there when an Asian man walked in.

I spoke to him and asked him what he was after and realised he couldn't sprechen Englisch. He pointed to a tray of chains in the window which I got out to show him.

Anyway, he started confusing me with strange lingo, slipping words like "understand English", "bracelet" and "Versace" in with that sort of flemmy, throat-scratching language. He looked at loads of different stuff and then went.

After he'd gone I noticed a chain was gone from the tray. It turned out that he'd pocketed it and ran off! So they sent me after him! Can you believe that? I was like "what do I do if and when I catch him?" but they didn't answer.

Anyway loads of police and that came. And we had him on CCTV. And I had to describe him to a copper. And then this morning, CSI were in, taking photos of the bit where he stood and getting prints and it was rather exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
