Do you remember the first time you visited your town? The whole place seemed different, you viewed everything from a different perspective. All the buildings were taller, you didn't have any reference point, could'nt work the busses etc

well the next time you are walking through your town try and get yourself in this mindset. It is very good. Imagine that your town doesen't extend much out of your field of vision, or that it is by the seaside or a mountain but you just can't see it. You can convince yourself it's there and it's excellent. All the shops and department stores suddenly become very quaint and romantic (I used north berwick as my model for glasgow)
