Home Recording

stwerewolf [Edit] [Delete] 16:26, 17 July '08

yo. i have just recieved a 4 track (that when bounced down actually is a 32 track) digital recorder.

i am currently trying to make use of my brief unemployment by being a "creative genius"

my weapons are electric guitar w/amp and pedals, acoustic guitar, bass, accordion, microkorg and a couple of casios and my voice and a single shure mic, and at the weekend i am borrowing the bare bones of a drum kit. i want to buy a tambourine, shaker and xylophone.

i just wondered if anyone had any good tips or helpful comments in the way of getting good sounds and making it sound like a proper recording rather than bits thrown together in a bedroom (which is essentially what it is). does anyone else do a lot of home recording? etc etc

i'm trying to do a neutral milk hotel, the microphones, times new viking, meneguar, wilco, frightened rabbit, animal collective, deerhunter type thing.

thnx!
