Anyone else taken/thinking about taking the renegade step of throwing away your television?

Its time to renew our licence but i've realised there's not a single programme i watch regularly, and anything good is on iPlayer or 4on demand anyway.

so £125 a year for the privelege of ITV and Channel 5? doubtful.

but, does not having a tv mean you're going to feel disconnected with the wider world? ie if a major news story happens etc, or a sporting event that yo'd want to watch live? hm. make the decision for me someone
