Am I being retarded or is the website I'm using incredibly awkward in booking 2 tickets to return on the same day?

Been using Southern Railway, is it as easy for me to just turn at Victoria on Sunday and pay my money get my seat? Hoping to pay less than £15 each, but the gig is free, so could stretch to £20, I've no clue, I rarely get the train.
