So I went to see Guillemero's latest attempt to broach comic book films last night. In places it was freaking incredible, great visual stuff (as per pans lab) and hugely impressive fight scenes. But, aside from the newest batman films, why does hollywood feel the need to fill anything marginally cult with tongue in check slapstick, dumb one liners and nothing love stories?

I may bump this when a few more people have seen, but still. Thoughts?
