I am getting a cat on Wednesday.

A CAT!

My old flatmate had one, and he moved out and got run over by a bus. Apart from the bus, the saddest thing about this is that I no longer had a CAT in my flat.

A lady on freecycle has 6 black kittens and I just spoke to her on the phone. I'm getting one. This is exciting stuff, no?

OK, here's where you come in. I have never owned a cat. I know little of things that cats do and do not like, and the responsibilities of looking after a cat.

I had to feed the old one (Satin) a few times, and it spent most of it's time hanging around in my room, and I have spent a lot of time with other people's cats sitting on me and stuff but...

There must be a catch. Vet stuff? Helth stuff? How often do you feed them stuff? Have you had cat?

By the way, regardless of genre, this cat will be called ARIEL.
