Are we to assume that actually Arfy has been going around raping and killing women the whole time or is it just meant to be this once? Based on him repeating that 'I never paid for it' line?

It's a strange book. I'm sorry I'd never gotten around to reading it before. I think I prefer the second half without the jumping about in time so much.
