As I'm sure loads of people on here are, I'm starting uni in October, and have just been sent the reading lists...it seems as though buying all of these books will be obscenely expensive, and I was wondering...

a) Is there somewhere that you can get this type of thing second hand? If so, where?
b) What's the likelihood that I will need (or actually read) three different books on German grammar, and a DIY workbook on the subject?

Did you use all the books you bought for uni? I'm worried about spending a lot of money on them, then not using them all, or being thrifty but then not having the right books...
