television

seems to vastly underachieve as an art form.

Serialised it has the potential to really flesh out characters and develop arcs and themes way more in depth than films.

is it really that difficult to not fall into the paths or becoming boring and predictable or totally convoluted and ridiculous? this happens too often.

Out of the tv I do watch, I could only really argue one's merits as an art form [and I would until the day I die], while the others I accept, while pleasant, generally aren't all that great. Then again I don't watch a lot of television so I could be talking complete bullshit.

However, over the past few years, there are relatively few shows really respected as art forms at all, especially over more than 3 or so seasons.

boring thread r boring huh? :( . Sorry.

to summarise:

Y R THERE NOT BETTER STUFF ON TV?

[also I'm going to reward myself for not mentioning LOST so far by saying "OMG, my LOST script arrived this morning and it's amazing and I'm going to stay up late reading it"]
