Why is it that, unlike most other media, people here and IRL do not give a shit about comic spoilers?

I read Watchmen lately but if I hadn't, the endless spoilers in the DiS Watchmen threads would have completely ruined it for me.

What is it about comics that means you can spoil the entire plot and every twist? Do you do it to look cool and prove what you "know" about the book? Good work. Now no one else will get the thrill of finding it out themselves.
