Channel 4 Schools Programmes

onearmedjizzer [Edit] [Delete] 15:15, 8 September '08

a friend of mine is desperate to know if anyone else remembers this "desperately sad" story from a Channel 4 schools programme from the early 90s... please help him for his curiosity is killing him.

"do you remember one which was the story of a boy who used to come home and tell his dad about how he used to get on at football in school? he'd come home and go into graphic detail about how he scored and stuff... and his dad wouldn't take much notice and it was all very sad.
the sadder reality of it was that he was bullied and on the first day he went to play footie he got done in by some bullies who threw his football boots into a tree. so, he used to play football on his own and pretend he was playing for a team... and it was these stories that he'd recount to his uninterested dad.
it built up a very sad little tale and one day it showed him playing football to himself underneath the tree where his boots had been thrown. he finished, and went to trudge back home but he looked around, and there was his dad, standing there... holding a new pair of football boots for him.
does this sound familiar?"

So... any takers?

ps. Hi.
