A query for American DiSsers...

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 20:10, 14 September '08

... or any DiSsers with a good working knowledge of America:

Does the expression "camp" have any meaning in the States of effemeniate, Carry On, John Barrowman-ness? I was just wondering after seeing all these adds for "Camp Rock", and I just thought, surely they can't realise the connotations that has in the UK?

Also, if anyone has access to the OED Online (uni students, I'm looking at you), and could tell me when camp first came to have that usage, I'd be mightily gratefully.
