I have plugged an Apple iTouch or whatever into my computer. Windows XP has informed me that what I have actually put onto my PC is a camera and according will be unable to use this contraption to up/download music or any other kind of file.

Looking around on Google confirms that many people are having this problem.

Question: Is it actually possible to use an Ipod Touch with a PC without infecting it with iTunes? Everything I've seen so far indicates that Apple have finally closed the gate on this one.
