Anyone on Lovefilm? This is a thread for doing a brief review of the last thing you watched, and the next thing you're getting (or hoping to get if you leave it to chance)...

My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown (1989)
Inspiring true story of the familiar disabled-person-does-good variety. That might sound a bit flippant, but if you put aside the sentimentality it's basically a tried and tested variant of the classic underdog format, with inbuilt emotional gravitas. No bad thing. This is a particularly good one, with a similar plot arc to The Diving Bell & Butterfly. Good depictions of an underprivileged Irish upbringing and a great lead performance from Daniel Day Lewis in the lead. 7/10

Princess (2007)
I think I saw this intriguing animated feature in The Film Shop in the expensive "new releases" section... a revenge drama apparently...
