About the US elections, a part of me - a big part - wants Barack to get elected so badly it verges on desperation. We can't have Republicans with, to quote Bill Hicks, "their fingers on the fuckin' button" for another four years. We simply can't. America sneezes and the rest of the world catches a cold. This has gone about fifty years longer than it should have.

Maybe, just maybe, in some small chance in a trillion, once Barack gets in that Oval office, they might finally turn this century around and begin the 'New Golden Age' foretold of in Revelations. Or at any rate, get our boys out of that fucking desert shithole and put them somewhere they can actually do the good they want to do. So much about the world, about the future, about the collective unconscious, rests on this election that it's a wonder (to my mind) it's taken second place to the financial 'crisis.'
