Do you think this will have a major effect on Obama come election time? I think it will have some. There must be plenty of white middle class voters who secretly harbour mildly racist and conservative views? Obama's celebrity status also makes him the fashionable choice over an old right wing white dude. America is still a very conservative nation though and they do love their old right wing white dudes.

I am still sure Obama will take this though (I dearly hope so), especially after last night. But it might be close. I'm still nervous.
