The love affair between Nintendo and myself is over

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 16:20, 19 November '08

I've officially had it.

I bought a Wii, I've tried to defend it and force myself to love it, but lets face it... its 95% shit.

REALLY shit.

The Nunchuk controller hurts your hand like fuck after more than half hour of gamesplaying, the Virtual console thing is a good idea but the hard drive space allowance and price put me off, half of the really good games are just PS2 games I already have and the others are very patchy and offer no replay value.

'Mario Kart' seemed good, until I realised its not about racing, but what fucking weapon you spawn. 'Smash Bros' is just a tarted up button basher on speed. 'No more heroes' was good fun towards the end and occasionally ingenious so gets let off, but still not really a stone cold classic.

I know 'Mario Galaxy' was tops (though I haven't completed it yet) but what else is lurking? 'Sin & Punishment 2' COULD be good, but may not be.

'Animal crossing' and 'Wii Music' look terrible (but will sell millions), and whats with Nintendos obsession with cooking and the Redknapps?

It reminds me of the phase Sony had of releasing ridiculously expensive peripherals and then not supporting them.

Admittedly, it has got my girlfriend occasionally playing the thing, but as an old school gamesplayer I feel like every hour spent on it is just time I could be investing on replaying 'Shadow of the Colossus'.

Nintendo - sort it out. You've been getting by on former glories too long, and it's time you changed that.
