am currently reading both white teeth and on beauty for my course. apparently she's like neo-dickensian or something. anyway, are you a fan? i do like her stories but at least in on beauty (of which i've only read about 80 pages, so no spoilers please) she uses stereotypes and cliches so much that it really annoys me. especially with kiki. it's pissing me off. enjoying white teeth, even though she does kind of do the same there, but to a lesser extent.
