I just looked at the contents of my external hard drive, and EVERYTHING has gone. My computer didn't crash, I didn't delete it, there's nothing in the trash can, but the hard drive is still showing the same amount of space as when stuff was on it...it appears to be there in invisible phantom form.

Does ANYONE know where the hell everything might have gone? And whether I should turn it off and on again? Or whether that will lose everything? Or restart my computer? (I can't restart it with the hard drive plugged in, it goes a bit nuts...) Just for technical background, I'm running an uninfected Macbook and using a 1TB Freecom hard drive.

I'm so sad, I think I might have lost all of my music and photos :'(
