I seem to have picked up a nasty virus from somewhere. My computer is seriously shagged with spyware or malware or some such evil device that keeps making it crash. It's infected my machine so much that if I try and look at any legit website that offers spyware and malware removal the whole thing freezes up before crashing. I've tried doing a system restore but that didn't work.

My work "helpdesk" remotely took over my computer and downloaded a programme called malwarebytes but then found they were unable to run it before they said they could offer no further help and hung up, so they were fairly far from helpful. Can some kind soul suggest another way of fixing it before I go crazy? You'll be my hero!
