Three predictions for 2009: Music in Britain

Mr_JDTraynor [Edit] [Delete] 16:33, 31 December '08

1) The success of Jeff Buckely's 'Hallelulah' leads to lots of copycat "campaigns" to resurrect old songs as hits. Almost immediately, this tactic is assimilated by Sony and the charts are full of old songs whose copyright is owned by Sony, the facebookers fallen readily into the trap.

2) Police forces around the UK stipulate that all venues must have seperate entrances and crowd areas for whites and non-whites. Mixed race bands need a special licence.

3) Colin Roberts removes himself from the music media and attempts to communicate with the world by standing atop a mountain and shouting. After his performances become a hit on youtube, thanks to mountain climbers' interest, Roberts returns and gets a job at The Guardian.
