Y'know, when they go really weird and run around every at full pelt for no reason whatsoever, and get really on edge to the extent that all you have to do is shuffle your foot slightly and they shit their pants

Why is this? Does everyone just accept that cats are prone to switching in and out of hyper-paranoid states without questioning why?
