"Trade paper Variety says the new film will concentrate on how Tom and Jerry met and their subsequent rivalry."

That sounds suspiciously like a PLOT. Tom & Jerry doesn't need a plot beyond a cursory reason for a cat and mouse to perform a series of increasingly brutal assaults on one another (and that's kind of inherent to them being cat and mouse anyway).

All things considered, I plan on not watching this film.
