I've been seeing articles lately that suggest the Oscars perpetuate gender divisions by having Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor awards etc...

A couple of writers have even likened it to having Best Black Actor or Best Gay Actor awards. And if there WAS no gender divisions would we see female actors missing out on the big prizes? No woman has ever won Best Director, for example.
