thoughts on the first two series of the west wing, and a question for those who have seen them all (spoilers)

michael_w [Edit] [Delete] 10:46, 27 January '09

first two series.....amazing...stunning....some of the best telly i've ever seen....the last episode of series two...man...i was with it..i was with it all the way.....mrs laningham...dead!.....unbelievable.....and then the bit after the service when they lock him in and he hits out at god.....amazing......it almost tipped over the melodramatic edge...with the music and the storm...but it just managed to stay on the good side........and when leo goes 'watch this'....ahh...just amazing

but then, i start watching the first episode of series three and everything is shit. i feel like my chair has been pulled up from under me....the cinematography has gone all wanky and it doesn't service the script...fucking stupid fancy camera work........it's like west wing the fucking movie now...too flash......and all the unbelievable tension that was built from the last of series two has just popped....they carried it over really well from 1 to 2....but this just seems flat and empty....it's not the same

so my question is....does it get better?.....i know the general feeling is that it gets shit after 1 and 2 but how shit?....without giving any plot away

in a way i wish i just stopped after series two....what a perfect way to end it that would have been.
