It is a big city.

Bars and clubs in the main are awfully expensive, especially the 'superclubs' which I didn't bother with. I did manage to find a bar that did absinthe for €1 though (neear Tribunal if anyone cares)...I don't remember that night.

The ratio of Irish bars to actual Irish people is approximately 12:1.

Burger King is pretty much El Rey over there.

Going boating on the lake in Retiro is lovely.

The Museo del Prado is quite excellent, and would have been more so if I had brought my student ID and been able to get in for free. The portraits of the apostles were my personal favourites.

Airport = fucking huge.

Don't get a taxi from the airport to your hotel...costs you €25 euros minimum, no matter how close you are.
