inspired by that thread about 'private' facebook profiles and the gov. having access etc; what's everyone's stance on privacy and the net? i notice some of you like a bit of the ol' e-stalking yrselves... where do you draw the line though? is looking at people's facebook/twitter/blog invasive if they put it there? should you put private things online?....

there was a story a while back about a guy who got taken to court for harrassment for stalking his ex girlfriend on facebook. he tried to add her as a friend and sent her an ian mcewan book as a present;
