but there is money in your bank account which is linked to your PayPal? Or do you have to transfer the money manually first?

It says - "This is how much is in your PayPal account. If your total is zero you can still send money through PayPal from your prefered funding source"

It sounds like you can, but I'm still not 100% sure.
